New Mexico is a huge state and often you not realize how many areas there are. When visiting in Mexico by RV there are many things to see. Some the things that I recommend are Carlsbad Caverns and all the museums for UFOs at Roswell. Those are both very cool and fun tourist places and you will thoroughly enjoy yourself.
New Mexico has wonderful mountains and northern New Mexico from Taos to Four Corners New Mexico has some of the nicest scenery and anywhere. There are lots of things to do in Albuquerque, New Mexico and they have cleaned up the crime downtown and now you can walk and have fun.
There are great museums in Santa Fe New Mexico and it is a cool place to hang out for a week and there are some excellent RV parks. If you get a chance you might wanna go to Socorro New Mexico and go up the mountain on Highway 60 to the VLA or Very Large Array. Those of course are the huge radio telescopes that were seen in the movie contact and that is where SETI, searches are universe for extraterrestrials and intelligent life in our Universe.
If you get down to Alamogordo New Mexico they have a great Space Museum there and it is totally worth seeing. In fact New Mexico is one of the greatest states to travel and discover by RV. Perhaps you will consider this in 2006.
